During his participation in the 12th session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, the Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi held a number of bilateral meetings with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Hissein Brahim Taha; the Director of the Communications Department at the Presidency of the Turkish Republic, Dr. Fahrettin Altun; the General Supervisor of the Official Media in the State of Palestine, Ahmed Assaf; the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, Marriyum Aurangzeb; the Minister of State of Libya for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Amer Al-Lafi; the Minister of Information and Culture and Somali Tourism, Daoud Aweys, and the President of the Media and Communications Commission of the Republic of Iraq, Mohammad Al-Asadi. During the meetings, they discussed aspects of cooperation in the field of media, issues of common interest, and mechanisms for promoting and developing media work in the OIC countries to achieve common goals.
