LIV Golf will kick off at the King Abdullah Economic City in Jeddah on October 14 and will last until October 16 with the participation of 48 professional golf players from around the world to compete in the penultimate stage of the opening season of the international tournament series. The total awards of LIV Golf reach US$25 million, where the tournament seeks to change the shape of golf worldwide through a unique playing style that comprises 12 teams and 48 players competing on 54 holes. The first of its kind tournament will be held according to a system that brings together collective and individual sides, where players are divided into 12 teams of four players with calculating the results of each player collectively to identify the winning team and individually to identify the best rate with the end of the tournament. LIV Golf Managing Director Majed Al-Sorour said that hosting this international tournament will enhance the spread of golf in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played a main role in making the vision of LIV Golf a reality, voicing aspiration for the participation of top players in this tournament inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
