Published in Saudi Press Agency on 15 - 09 - 2022

STC Group and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority "SDAIA", have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to implement several national initiatives related to digital technologies and artificial intelligence, as part of the two sides' participation in the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit held in Riyadh.
The memorandum aims to develop and research artificial intelligence and relevant enabling technologies, localize them, and exchange experiences and knowledge in data management and governance. It also seeks to benefit from the (inspireU) program by participating in activities to spread the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, support emerging projects, support STC in raising the quality of its data per international best practices and help it adhere to data governance and personal data protection system.
The agreement also seeks to localize artificial intelligence and develop algorithmic assets, contribute to accelerating the rate of compliance with data regulations at the national level and activate awareness messages to protect personal data.
The MoU will allow charities listed on the Ehsan platform to benefit from the technical package services available on the STC Sustainability Platform and cooperate to support and enable projects and programs in the non-profit sector adopted by SDAIA, develop environmental services and products, and a specialized volunteer project, and provide tests to measure and evaluate the capabilities and competencies of trainees. The memorandum includes guidelines for exchanging experiences and knowledge, providing consultations, and exploring career development opportunities and programs through the STC Academy to accelerate the development of young people in data and artificial intelligence.
The CEO of the STC Group, Eng. Olayan Al-Wetaid, said, "the group's partnership with SDAIA emanates from the group's role in enabling the digital system for artificial intelligence, through the dissemination of research and development, and the enhancement of digital capabilities through strategic partnerships to accelerate the stages of transformation and transition towards accreditation on artificial intelligence to support the digital economy in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030".
