The Federation of Saudi Chambers announced today the establishment of a joint Saudi-Thai Business Council. The announcement came during the activities of the Saudi-Thai Business Forum, which was organized by the Federation of Saudi Chambers, with the participation of more than 350 senior officials and business leaders from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Thailand, and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Thailand Jurin Laksanawisit, who is visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss prospects for economic cooperation between the two friendly countries. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Thailand delivered a speech in which he highlighted the discussions he held with the Saudi officials, which resulted in signing 3 important agreements in the free trade field, facilitation of commercial procedures, and the establishment of a joint Saudi-Thai business council, which is expected to be completed soon, thus contributing to advancing the economic relations to broader horizons. He also praised the Kingdom's Vision 2030, expressing the aspiration of the Thai government and its business sector to actively participate in the projects and investment opportunities presented by the Kingdom's Vision 2030. He indicated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia could be a major energy supplier to Thailand, and Thailand could be a primary source of the Kingdom's food security, calling on Saudi business owners to invest in Thailand, in various economic sectors, take advantage of the opportunities, the investment environment and the facilities it provides to the foreign investors. It is worth mentioning that the Saudi-Thai Business Forum witnessed holding bilateral meetings between representatives of the Saudi and Thai companies to discuss cooperation partnerships and stimulate private sector investments between the two countries in various fields. The forum also witnessed signing 5 agreements between Saudi and Thai entities and companies.
