A medical team of King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah, a member of Makkah Healthcare cluster has performed urgent cardiac catheterization for an Iranian pilgrim in his sixties suffered from severe angina pectoris while he was heading to the Grand Mosque to perform prayers. The Ministry said that the emergency section of King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah has received the Iranian pilgrim, who was suffering from severe chest pain and the medical team from the Heart Center performed an urgent diagnostic catheterization with full examinations, along with CT scans that showed blockage of more than two arteries in the heart causing severe angina pectoris. The ministry added that the treating team decided to perform an open-heart operation, but the patient refused this medical procedure and after consulting with the doctor of his Hajj campaign, it was decided to install stents for the blocked arteries and the patient has got better and is about to get out and join his campaign to complete his rituals. The Ministry of Health confirmed that the Medical City provides its high quality services for all pilgrims, visitors and pilgrims, based on highly qualified doctors with modern global capabilities, which enjoy great support from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and persistent follow-up of the Ministry of Health to provide high quality health services.
