Secretary General of Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Brahim Taha held, as part of his current official visit to Morocco, talks here with Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita, it was reported today. During the meeting, which took place on Tuesday, the two sides lauded the deep-rooted relations binding OIC with the Kingdom of Morocco, the birthplace of OIC in 1969. They lauded the distinguished level of cooperation the two sides share in different fields, confirming their keenness to continue achieving OIC message which calls for cooperation and solidarity among member states and service of the Islamic nation. For his part, OIC Secretary General praised Morocco's role inside OIC in enhancing the joint Islamic work. In turn, Morocco's foreign minister confirmed his country's firm support for OIC and its readiness to put its experience and expertise in all fields at the disposal of the organization. During the meeting, they exchanged view points on a number of regional and international issues, topped by the Palestinian cause, citing the need to provide support for the Palestinian people to enable them acquire their legitimate rights, including the establishment of their independent state with Eastern Al-Quds as capital and support the two-state solution according to the international legitimacy resolutions and Arab peace initiative. In this regard, OIC secretary general lauded the importance of Al-Quds Committee, led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The two sides also discussed the situations in Afghanistan, Yemen, the Muslim minority of Rohingya, African Sahel zone, Chad lake, the phenomenon of Isamphobia and the dangers of terror and extremism.
