The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has vigorously condemned the explosion against a mosque in Afghanistan's capital city, Kabul, and the three blasts that ripped through three mini buses in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif. The spate of attacks occurred on Wednesday 25 May 2022, reportedly leaving innocent casualties and dozens gravely injured. The OIC General Secretariat firmly deplored the relentless cycle of violence that seeks to thwart any real stabilization and securitization of an Afghan society and people long plagued by conflict and senseless violence. The OIC reiterated its unwavering stand that perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these abominable and indiscriminate acts of terrorism should be held accountable and brought to justice. It also expressed deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
