Algeria has welcomed the announcement that the parties in Yemen reached a truce, expressing hope that this step would constitute an important station to reach a permanent agreement that guarantees a comprehensive settlement of the crisis in the country. A statement by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed today the issuance of the statement of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Yemen, in which he announced that a two-month truce was reached in this country, starting from the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. Algeria once again valued this initiative, stressing its support for all efforts and initiatives aimed at finding a political solution, especially the current consultations being hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms, and the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue to achieve a lasting reconciliation that preserves Yemen's unity and independence, and returns security, stability and peace to the region.
