Al-Jowf-Jordan Highway Connects Saudi Arabia with Jordan, Enhances Trade Movement, Facilitates Arrival of Tourists, Visitors of the Two Holy Mosques
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 31 - 03 - 2022

Al-Jowf-Jordan Highway connects Saudi Arabia with Jordan through several villages and agricultural towns, including the historical Duma Al-Jandal, which is the oldest Saudi city in the north. The road is around 469 kilometers long that can be passed in five hours as of Al-Jowf till arriving in the Jordanian capital Amman with a short stop at the two border crossings of Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
This road serves residents of Al-Jowf and adjacent governorates, and also serves arrivals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and neighboring countries, in addition to serving the movement of trade, goods and supply chains and facilitating movement for visitors of the Two Holy Mosques and tourists who want to visit tourist, historical and archaeological sites in Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services paid attention to Al-Jowf-Jordan Highway and made it a top priority along with other roads in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a bid to develop it and improve the level of services provided to this international road, where the ministry kept on implementing all maintenance and safety procedures to this highway regularly to increase the level of traffic safety on this highway according to the highest and latest international standards.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also sought to build this highway with its high standards to the Jordanian capital Amman, which contributed to reducing the big number of deaths of Saudis, Jordanians and others who use this road connecting Gulf Cooperation Council countries with the Levant.
The works implemented by the ministry on this highway contributes to realizing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's targets related to motorists under the National Strategy for Transport and Logistic Services, which seeks to make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rank number six globally on the road quality indicator by 2030, preserve its leading position globally on the indicator of road network connection, and reduce deaths resulting from road accidents.
