"Riyadh Marathon 2022" to kick off tomorrow

The Riyadh Marathon 2022, organized by the Saudi Sports for All Federation with direct support from the Ministry of Sports and the Quality of Life Program to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, kicks off tomorrow, where all preparations have been completed, to receive sports fans from Riyadh and various regions of the Kingdom as well as from all over the world to participate and attend the historic race with a chance to win prizes worth more than SR2 million.
The first marathon, with a distance of 42 km, starts from the starting line at King Saud University at 06:15 am, offering the opportunity for participants to explore several tourist destinations in Riyadh (Diriyah - main roads - Digital City - King Saud University).
The "Riyadh Marathon 2022" is distinguished by being accredited by the Asian and International Athletics Federations and by the presence of partners from government agencies including the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the Quality of Life Program, the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, the Saudi Athletics Federation, the National Events Center, King Saud University, and sponsors, and includes multiple races that encourage people of all ages, backgrounds, and athletic abilities to participate.
Passionate runners aged 18 and above can take part in the 21.1 km Half Marathon, the 10-kilometer Open Race for the 17-year-old and above, and the 4-kilometer race for beginners and children, where everyone can participate in one of these races and register via the official website of the marathon.
On March 4 and 5, a marathon village event will take place, where participants can obtain sports uniforms, and visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the events accompanying the historical marathon, where participants and visitors can enjoy a range of sports and recreational activities, different types of food in a musical atmosphere, benefit from fitness classes over two days: Friday from 9 am to 9 pm and Saturday from 5:30 am to 3 pm.
The organization of the marathon by the Saudi Sports for All Federation comes in light of the success of organizing the Riyadh Half Marathon in 2018.
The Saudi Sports Federation is the main body responsible for the development of community sports in the Kingdom, and seeks to build a healthy and vibrant society, by inspiring and motivating all members of society to make physical activity a part of their lifestyle, as part of the Federation's endeavor to increase the rate of physical education culture to 40% of the Kingdom's population by 2030, to meet the goals of the Quality of Life Program, one of the Kingdom's vision's programs.
