The free practice driving tests started at 1:30 p.m., during which German Pascal Wehrlin, the driver for "Tag Heuer Porsche" team, succeeded in achieving the fastest time, while French Jean-Eric Vergne, the driver for "DS Cheetah", came second, followed by Britain's Oliver Rowland, the driver for Mahindra Racing in third place. At 3:40 p.m., the qualifying trials for the first group began, followed by the qualifying trials for the second group, to start the knockout qualifiers, which ended with the achievement made by the Dutchman Nyck de Vries, the driver for "Mercedes-Benz EQ" team who is the current world champion and winner of the first round race that took place on Friday, which was the first pole position, after he beat Swiss Edoardo Mortara, the driver for the "ROKiT Venturi Racing - Monaco" team in the final round to set the positions, while the Dutchman Robin Frings, the driver for the British "Invision Racing" team finished third.
