The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in collaboration with the Federations of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC) held a seminar on Tuesday entitled: "Business Opportunities in IsDB Financed Projects". The event was held as part of the Dubai Expo activities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its affiliate organizations. The seminar was attended by about 130 participants; in-person and online. They included senior executives in consultancy and contracting firms based in Dubai. The seminar was addressed by four speakers: Husham Merghani representing IsDB; Moncef Ziani, Vice President of FCIC; Mohannad Al Sanousi, Marketing Manager of Newtech Consulting Group; and Dr. Azhar Al Haboby, Executive Manager of Hail Consulting firm. The event was moderated by President of FCIC Mohamed Abdel Rahman. Featuring at the seminar were the activities of active portfolio of IsDB financed projects, the procurement rules applicable in these projects, and how Consultants and Contractors can obtain information on business opportunities. Speakers from consultancy firms elaborated on their experiences in competing for and implementing IsDB/MDB financed projects. A presentation was also made on Business Opportunities in Agricultural projects, due to the importance of food security in IsDB member countries.
