Published in Saudi Press Agency on 20 - 01 - 2022

Riyadh is witnessing these days big activities since the launch of the Riyadh Season with its various activities that exceed 7,500 local and international events, where Visit Saudi has also contributed to diverting the attention of visitors and tourists from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad.
Riyadh has recently been characterized with its diversified events and activities, which made it a leading tourist destination in the region, where visitors and tourists can arrange their tourists agendas and choose what suit them from these fascinating events through the Saudi calendar for events and seasons that was launched by Visit Saudi, which displays all activities extending between October 2021 and March 2022.
The Saudi capital is still waiting for many distinguished international events that are expected to attract millions of visitors from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf region and around the world. The coming months will carry a new momentum of activities for the Saudi winter season.
The first of its kind festival in the Middle East, the Saudi Design Festival (SDF) is currently held and scheduled to last till 29 January, 2022. The festival will transform Riyadh into a hub for creative dialogue. Focusing on the power of transformation in and by design, SDF will bring communities together to celebrate great design, reimagine the future, connect, and create our presence on the global culture and creative map.
Diriyah is scheduled to host the first two Formula E 2022 rounds for e-cars during January 28 and 29, 2022. Equestrian lovers are waiting for the Saudi Cup to be held between February 25 and 26, which is the third edition of the championship whose main prize is USD 20 million, where the total value of prizes went up from USD 33.1 million from the last season to USD 35.1 million this year.
As for art enthusiasts, there is the first edition of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale that will continue till March 11 with showcasing works of more than 60 Saudi and international artists. Exploring social transformation under the theme Feeling the Stones, inspired by the idea of "crossing the river by feeling the stones", the multi-section Biennale invites visitors into the heart of the Kingdom's growing contemporary art scene, the Gulf's most dynamic example of the transformative potential of art.
Amidst this big momentum that Riyadh and other regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are witnessing, Visit Saudi has provided an opportunity to look at all activities, events and shows through the calendar of events and seasons on https://calendar.visitsaudi.com/en, which was launched last September to display all tourist and entertainment activities and events and seasons scheduled to be held during the Saudi winter 2021/2022.
