The name of the podcast "1949" came from the year in which a royal decree was issued setting the general framework for radio in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as that year represented the starting point for Saudi radio. The podcast "1949" seeks to be a key point in keeping pace with the Saudi cultural scene, and expressing its issues and developments moment by moment. The podcast is the latest digital product offered by the Ministry of Culture to serve the local cultural sector, and to provide a window that allows Saudi critics to present their ideas through a prestigious digital platform that provides audiences of all segments with sober cultural content covering all aspects of cultural activity in the Kingdom.
