Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has announced the launch of a new Control Tower at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. Designed to support Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC)'s operations at the port, the Control Tower will be jointly managed by MAWANI, SABIC, Saudi Global Ports Company (SGP), and Tabadul. Using latest technologies, the Control Tower regulates the entry of trucks to the port and monitors the loading of containers to drive improved efficiency throughout SABIC's export operations. Its advanced capabilities include the ability to integrate into the port community system and be able to check for confirmation of all customs x-ray procedures and other related logistics processes in a seamless setup. The new Control Tower further enhances King Abdulaziz Port's efficiency by optimizing its operations, ensuring the smooth flow of cargo, and achieving faster turnaround times, bringing a number of benefits to the port's key stakeholders. The launch comes as part of MAWANI's continued efforts to develop world-class ports and logistics services in Saudi Arabia and transform the Kingdom into a unique logistics hub connecting continents, positioning Saudi Arabia as a more competitive logistical hub.
