The Indonesia Embassy in Islamabad has set up a Natural Disaster Relief Fund to collect donations for tsunami victims, an embassy statement said. The move is aimed at facilitating individuals and organizations approaching the embassy for their donations for the massive relief operations, which is under way in wake of the devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunami tidal waves. The quake has killed over 90,000 people in Indonesia and destroyed property worth millions of dollars. The embassy has requested the people to deposit their donations in its relief fund and fax a copy of the deposit slip to the embassy. The embassy asked the individuals and organizations to donate in cash instead of supplies, as it will expedite the relief operation by swiftly reaching the needy people in the disaster area. Entities and organizations willing to send humanitarian aid in terms of medical and food supplies are welcomed to contact the embassy, the statement said.
