Participants in the 7th Conference of Human Rights Officials in the Arab Ministries of Interior approved here today the Arab strategic draft for promoting human rights in security work. The two-day conference was hosted by Tunisia at the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC), where the Secretariat and the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) prepared a draft plan for the implementation of that strategy. They also asked the General Secretariat to prepare a list that includes directives on the security services' handling of health crises while enhancing respect for human rights, in addition to requesting NAUSS to hold a training course for members of the Arab security services to deal with health crises better. Participants in the conference urged the Arab police academies to encourage scientific research in the field of human rights through the introduction of postgraduate diplomas, teaching scientific courses and the implementation of training programs.
