Published in Saudi Press Agency on 25 - 08 - 2021

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Bilad Newspaper reported said in its editorial that the diversification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's economy is the most important factor for achieving goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 .
In this regard, many practical steps have been achieved by raising the efficiency of the non-oil sectors and entering new sectors in an integrated system that achieves economic transformation, the paper said .
Such sectors include industry, mining, tourism, major development projects, smart cities and other achievements which enhance Saudi Arabia's leading in many indicators of global competitiveness, despite the challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy, the paper added.
The Saudi industry's steps are strong in the volume of investments, production and job opportunities, with ambitious numbers indicated by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, including the granting of 48 new industrial licenses during the month of July, while dozens of factories started production operations with an annual growth rate of nearly 144 % compared to the same period last year, the paper further added.
Such large investments reflect Saudi Arabia's high capabilities and its blue chip investment that resulted in attracting 50 billion dollars during the month of July, the paper concluded.
In another context, Al-Riyadh Newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's repeated calls for peace in Afghanistan stem from the leading and leadership role it plays for the interests, security, stability and development of Islamic countries and peoples.
In this regard, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to establish security and stability in Afghanistan, as it has called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold a conference on Afghanistan to reach a comprehensive political settlement and intensify humanitarian efforts to help the Afghan people, the paper said.
This firm historical Saudi stance would effectively support everything related to the Islamic world and Islamic peoples, the paper added.
