The Yemeni government praised the announcement by "Masam" project for dismantling Yemeni lands of mines and unexploded ordnance, of extending its activities for the 4th year in a row. Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani said in a statement quoted by the official Yemeni news agency (Saba) Saturday, that the extension of Masam project, which was launched by King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre (KSrelief) in June 2018, comes as an affirmation of the constructive role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Yemen, and its sincere and noble efforts to restore life returns to normal in the liberated areas of Yemen. He further said that Masam teams have managed, since the launch of the project, to remove more than 264,000 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices that were randomly and hysterically planted by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia. The project was also able - according to Al-Eryani - to demine 24,800,280 square meters of Yemeni land, at an estimated cost of $133 million, and under precarious conditions.
