The Speaker of Saudi Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, has affirmed before the Arab Parliament here today that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is playing a leading and pivotal role in serving the issues of the Arab world embodied in honorable stances, wise policies and pioneering initiatives to safeguard Arab national security and counter blatant interference in the affairs of Arab countries, indicating that this is reflected in the great successes and decisive stances of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince. This came in his speech in the session of the Arab Parliament during which he received the Arab Excellence Medal. The Speaker of the Shura Council said that the positions of the Kingdom's leadership towards the Arab world have given a positive impetus to the system of the joint Arab action, establishing a promising stage of solidarity and unity of positions, and confronting everything that threatens and targets the security and stability of our Arab societies with practical steps that confirm its support for all Arab countries. He praised the role of the President of the Arab Parliament Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi and the Parliament in appreciating and commending the initiatives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, "Green Saudi Arabia" and "Green Middle East" adopted by the Parliament to propose a mechanism, an action plan, and a legal framework to put the two initiatives into practice at the Arab level. On the situation in Yemen, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh explained that the humanitarian situation in Yemen still requires a serious stance from the international community to put an end to this tragedy, stressing the Kingdom's firm position to accept a political solution based on the three references, the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanisms, the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue, Security Council Resolution No. ( 2216), and what the Kingdom has announced in its latest initiative to end the crisis in Yemen with a comprehensive ceasefire. At the end of his speech, the Speaker of the Shura Council extended his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Arab Parliament for granting him the Arab Excellence Medal. He considered this honor in appreciation of the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its presence in support of Arab countries and joint Arab action, under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince, pointing out that this is an appreciation of the Shura approach in the Kingdom.
