U.S. stocks were little changed Tuesday, with the Standard & Poor's 500 failing to reach its May 7 record high. Oil climbed to a more than two-year high. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 30.42, or 0.1 percent, to 34,599.82. The broader S&P 500 index was virtually unchanged, rising 0.72 to 4,227.24. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 43.19, or 0.3 percent, to 13,924.91.
