Moreover, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's support for the Palestinian cause has been one of the entrenched constants of the Kingdom's policies since the era of the late founder, King Abdulaziz, who was the first supporter of the Palestinian people. The Saudi support for the Palestinian cause has continued until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who affirms that the Palestinian cause is the first issue for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the Arab and Islamic worlds, and that Saudi Arabia's support for this cause will continue, until the Palestinians fully realize their rights including establishing independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. During the past days and escalating situation between Israel and Palestine in Gaza Strip, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to condemn the Israeli aggressions against the rights of the Palestinian people. Moreover, the Kingdom called on the international community to intervene and pressure Israel, the occupying force, to stop the escalation. The newspaper added that when a ceasefire agreement was reached in the Gaza Strip, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud made a phone call to President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine, in which he affirmed the Kingdom's position and support for the Palestinian issue. During the phone call, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also affirmed that the Kingdom will continue its efforts at all levels to stop the Israeli attacks on Al-Quds by communicating with all relevant parties to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation government. The newspaper concluded by pointing to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's request to hold an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee at the level of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States to discuss the bloody events and Israeli attacks in the land of Palestine, especially in Al-Quds Al-Sharif and what Israel is carrying out in the vicinity of the holy Aqsa Mosque, as this meeting constituted a pressure on the Israeli side. In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that since the travel ban for citizens has been lifted and the land, sea and air ports have been opened, here we are facing the fact that everyone must realize the responsibility and adhere to the health protocols to preserve the gains that we have accomplished in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the previous stages. The newspaper added that the integrated efforts exerted by the government of Saudi Arabia resulted in reaching the reassuring numbers of infections and achieving current gains, which the most advanced countries of the world have not been able to reach until now. Additionally, the Kingdom's health and socio-economic response to the COVID-19 pandemic has added new innovative concepts to crisis management and demonstrated a model to the global community in fighting the novel coronavirus.
