Lebanese Foreign Minister's Accusation of Saudi Arabia of Funding Terrorist IS, Does not Represent Stance of the Lebanese State, Lebanon's Presidency Reports

The Presidency of the Republic of Lebanon emphasized that the Foreign Minister in the care-taker government Charbel Wehbe accusation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without naming it, of funding the IS terrorist organization, is only a personal opinion which does not represent the stance of the Lebanese state.
A statement issued by the Information Office, at the presidency here today, indicated that some utterings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the care-taker government Charbel Wehbe to "Al-Hurra" TV station last night have caused reactions targeting offending the existing fraternal relations between Lebanon and sisterly GCC states, a matter that appeared through the voiced political stances, in addition to the programmed media campaign that accompanied it, despite the explanation made by the competent minister, that he did not name the GCC countries, in the context of his speech.
The statement added that as the presidency reasserts the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Lebanon and the sisterly GCC states, atop of which is the brethren Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its keenness on the continuation of such relations and consolidating them, in all domains, it also confirms that the utterings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates do not but express his personal opinion and do not reflect, by any means, the stance of the Lebanese state and its President Gen. Michel Aoun, who is keen on rejecting any insult to any fraternal or friendly country, in general, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the GCC states, in particular.
