Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), virtually witnessed today the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the SOCPA and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). The MoU aims to establish a joint cooperation between the two sides in the fields of accounting and auditing and several professional fields, including the conducting of technical research, the holding of joint professional events and the collaborating of providing consultations to other professional bodies. The memorandum was signed by Dr. Ahmad Abdullah Al-Mghamis, Secretary General of the SOCPA, and David Matthews, CEO of the ICAEW. This agreement will facilitate joint action between the two sides to consolidate the Saudi accounting sector and ensure its sustainability through knowledge exchange.
