Saudi Press: "Made in Saudi" Program Will Support National Products and Services at Local and International Levels
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 30 - 03 - 2021

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported in its editorial that the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia has made remarkable leaps due to Saudi Vision 2030, which has placed industry as a major axis in reaching a sustainable economy. Over the past few years, this sector has attracted local and foreign investments, as the primary motivation of these investments was the Kingdom's balanced economic situation, high credit ratings, as well as the flexible laws.
The newspaper added that the industrial sector is an integral part of a diverse local economy. Moreover, it is connected to different fields, especially in the fields of small and medium-sized enterprises, as these enterprises represent a major axis in supporting the industrial sector worldwide. Therefore, the "Made in Saudi" Program has been launched under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense; which is an initiative that aims at supporting national products and services at local and international levels and increasing "the culture of loyalty to the national product".
It is not strange that the program will achieve rapid progress in the coming stage, for many reasons, but foremost because Saudi Vision 2030 has contributed to raising the number of factories in Saudi Arabia to about 10,000 industrial establishments, with investments amounted to more than SAR 1.1 trillion, the paper concluded.
Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Saudi Green and Middle East Green initiatives announced by HRH the Crown Prince aim to chart a path for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region in protecting the planet, by clearly defining an ambitious road map that rallies the region and significantly contributes to achieving global targets in confronting climate change.
HRH the Crown Prince said, the Kingdom and the region face significant climate challenges, such as desertification, an immediate economic risk to the Kingdom and the region (USD 13Bn is currently lost due to dust storms in the region every year). Air pollution from greenhouse gases also is estimated to have shortened average Saudi life expectancy by 1.5 years.
HRH the Crown Prince affirmed that we will work through The Saudi Green Initiative to raise vegetation cover, reduce carbon emissions, combat pollution & land degradation, and preserve marine life.
In another context, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that wars are not limited to their traditional form, which relies on the military machine to destroy and damage capabilities. Rather, it is a fierce and ugly war that extends and includes the scourge of drugs.
In this regard, the newspaper pointed to the Saudi Customs at the Jeddah Islamic Port that yesterday foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,323,000 Captagon pills, which were found hidden inside a consignment.
The apprehension of receivers of the drugs is a firm indication that Saudi Arabia is continuing to tighten customs control over all imports, exports and travelers and to combat smuggling in all its forms, the newspaper concluded.
