Presided over by its Chairman Dr. Fayez Al-Shehri, the Shura Council's Saudi-Ukrainian Parliamentary Friendship Committee held a meeting here today with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ukraine Vakhrushev Vadym to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Shehri stressed the importance of activating the role of the parliamentary friendship committees in the two countries, in a way that contributes to support aspects of cooperation and enhance the joint work between the Shura Council and the Ukrainian Parliament. For his part, the Ukrainian Ambassador stressed the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Ukraine and supporting the joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He pointed to the importance of exchanging the bilateral parliamentary visits. During the meeting, the members of the Saudi-Ukrainian Parliamentary Friendship Committee discussed a number of issues of common interest between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Ukraine in all fields, particularly in the parliamentary field. They also reviewed aspects of strengthening the relations between the two friendly countries, including increasing trade exchange and cultural cooperation as well as academic and tourism exchange.
