Saudi Press: Royal Saudi Air Defense, Royal Saudi Air Force Exhibited Great Competence in Countering, Thwarting Terrorist Threats
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 01 - 03 - 2021

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the terrorist Houthi militia is purposely escalating the deliberate, hostile, terrorist targeting of civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia using ballistic missiles and bomb-laden UAVs.
The newspaper pointed to a statement by the Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki as saying that "Joint Coalition Forces have intercepted and destroyed Saturday night and Sunday morning (27-28 February 2021) (1) ballistic missile toward (Riyadh) launched by the terrorist, Iran-backed Houthi militia, and (6) bomb-laden UAVs toward the Kingdom launched deliberately and systematically to target civilians and civilian objects in the Southern Region, Jazan and Khamis Mushait."
"The Royal Saudi Air Defense and Royal Saudi Air Force have exhibited great competence in countering and thwarting these threats through monitoring launches in Houthi-controlled areas and intercepting and destroying the terrorist threats," the statement added.
All details and aforementioned data in Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki's statements show the Saudi air defense forces' competence and professionalism in countering and thwarting Houthi terrorist attacks that target civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the newspaper concluded.
In the same context, Al-Bilad newspaper said in its editorial that strong Arab and international condemnations of the systematic war crimes committed by the terrorist Houthi militia continue, as these attacks are a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen has affirmed that it will continue to implement all necessary precautions to safeguard civilians and civilian objects, and all required operational procedures to stop such terrorist acts and aggression attempts, and appropriately handle the sources of these threats in accordance with the Customary International Humanitarian Law. The responsibility now remains on the United Nations Security Council to deter these Houthi crimes and put an end to Iran's disruptive role in the region, as the Iranian regime continues to support these militias with money and weapons, the newspaper concluded.
