The population of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached 22,673,538 on September 15, 2004, the General Statistics Authority announced today. The authority pointed out that the population includes 16,529,302 Saudis ( 72,9 percent) and 6,144,236 foreign residents (27,1 percent). It detailed that the population comprises 8,285,662 Saudi males (50,1 percent) and 8,243,640 Saudi females (49,9 percent), while foreigners encompass 4,271,598 males /69,5 percent out of the total number of the foreigners/ and 1,872,638 females (30,5 percent). Houses in the Kingdom stand at 3,990,559, the authority added.
