President of the Arab Parliament Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi welcomed today the formation of the new Yemeni political government, headed by Dr. Maeen Abdul Malik, in order to complete the implementation of the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement between the legitimate Yemeni Government and the Southern Transitional Council, under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after the implementation of the military arrangements in the agreement. In a statement, Al-Asoumi stressed the importance of this pivotal step in restoring security and stability in Yemen, activating state institutions, and creating an atmosphere for the new government to implement development projects in the liberated areas, in a way that benefits the Yemeni people and alleviating their suffering. Al-Asoumi added that this agreement is an important step towards reaching a comprehensive political settlement of the Yemeni crisis, based on the three references, the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
