Saudi Press: Registration Mechanism of Taking COVID-19 Vaccine to be Announced Soon, Health Ministry
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 13 - 12 - 2020

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported in its editorial that the world is living historical moments and waiting anxiously to witness the results of using vaccines approved by the World Health Organization and international bodies, as pandemic has proven that the global economic recovery is still difficult due to its second outbreak in many countries, despite the peerless economic stimulus measures taken by different governments in many countries.
The paper added that the countries' ability to cope with another pandemic has greatly diminished and alliances must be made against these diseases.
In this regard, Fitch Ratings said that it is unlikely that upgrades of any major economy are unlikely in 2021 despite recent developments related to COVID-19 vaccination, as the deterioration in economic sectors, prices and supply chains has taken a longer period than what was expected at the beginning of the pandemic; therefore the global contraction that reached 8 percent may be difficult to recover from. Senior economists at Fitch believe that the countries that will achieve success in vaccination processes will witness the maximum economic recovery, but nevertheless, the beginnings in 2021 will be weak in Europe and the United States.
On the other side, countries facing a slower distribution of the vaccine will experience severe economic difficulties.
Okaz newspaper reported in its editorial that the Saudi ministry of health's announcement of importing the COVID-19 vaccine and its announcement that the registration mechanism for taking the Coronavirus vaccine will be announced soon, as well as the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) announced that it has approved the registration of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed that the Saudi experience made the human safety as a top priority.
The newspaper concluded that Saudi Arabia has always believed that the greatest wealth in a good land is the human being.
