U.S. stocks fell Wednesday, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 344.93, or 1.2 percent, to 29,438.42.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 41.74, or 1.2 percent, to 3,567.79.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index fell 9.74, or 0.8 percent, to 11,801.60.
