Saudi Press: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Inaugurate Works of Eighth Session of Shura Council
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 09 - 11 - 2020

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh and Al-Bilad newspapers reported in their editorials that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing qualitative leaps, and the projects, achievements and roles that the leadership plays nationally, regionally and internationally to support stability, security and peace worldwide is a true embodiment of the sober political and strategic approach of Saudi Arabia.
The newspapers said that the Shura Council in Saudi Arabia enjoys the full attention of the wise leadership, as it is one of the important regulatory and supervisory institutions in the Kingdom.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will inaugurate on Wednesday 11/11/2020 the works of the first year of the eighth session of the Shura Council. The whole nation will listen to the annual royal speech, to be delivered via video call. The speech will deal with the Kingdom's internal and external policy and its positions towards the most important regional and international issues, as it is a road map for the council and its members, the newspapers added.
The newspapers concluded that the royal speech comes at a very important time and is anticipated by many political and economic circles for several considerations, foremost of which is the great position of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, influencing the regional and international levels, and the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the president of the G20.
In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that women empowerment has the most care and attention by Saudi Arabia from the era of the late founder until this auspicious era under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince. Throughout history, Saudi women have proven their prominent and effective role in leading change and decision-making.
The newspaper further said that the winning of an international award by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for its Women Empowerment Program in Technology for 2020 is a further sign of the wise leadership's support for the role of women in all fields. The empowerment of women in advancing the development march also comes within the plans of the National Transformation Program and the ambitions of Saudi vision.
Saudi women also were able to win the EQUALS In tech Award in the IN TECH LEADERSHIP, which is awarded by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU ) with the aim of promoting gender equality in the digital world.
These aforementioned data capture the comprehensive scene of the women's status and empowerment that they enjoy in Saudi Arabia as they play a momentous role in the nation's renaissance.
