Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia's Humanitarian Works Benefit 81 Countries Worldwide

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exerts all efforts to serve humanitarian causes, and it is one of the largest donors of humanitarian and development aid worldwide, as its total donation's value reached more than USD 86 billion, benefitting 81 countries.
The newspaper said that Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Manzalawi has confirmed in his speech that the world is facing a huge challenge today, represented by Covid-19 pandemic, with its health, humanitarian and economic consequences.
The newspaper concluded that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during its presidency of the G20, coordinated international efforts by holding a meeting last March to coordinate global efforts to combat the epidemic and reduce its humanitarian and economic impacts, and it has pledged USD 500 million to relevant international organizations to support global efforts in combatting the pandemic.
In another context, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper said in its editorial that Saudi Arabia has set the people empowerment as a major objective in the action plan of the G20, believing that equal opportunities is an important tool to support economic growth.
The newspaper added that Saudi Arabia's Presidency of the G20 is working forward to achieve prosperity for all people, promote equal opportunities, as well as create opportunities that contribute to raising the standard of living for individuals worldwide.
Among supportive policies, Saudi Arabia works to empower youth and provide opportunities for all, and to achieve financial inclusion that enables all segments of society, especially women and youth, to access financial services, the paper concluded.
