COVID-19 Follow-up Committee Holds 81st Meeting

Under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the COVID-19 Follow-up Committee held its 81st meeting today, in the presence of the members of the Committee representing a number of the relevant governmental entities.
During the meeting, all relevant COVID-19 updates and reports were reviewed. The committee discussed the epidemiological situation globally, as well as the cases reported locally. All precautionary measures carried out at the points of entry into the Kingdom will continue in full and will be further enhanced, the committee stressed.
Following the meeting, Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali who is also Spokesperson of the Health Ministry said that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is 4041520 cases, of which 1381527 cases have been cured to date. The COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 279593.
Dr. Al-Abdulaali said that 1645 new COVID-19 cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that the new cases were reported in Makkah (438), Jeddah (374), Riyadh (363), Madinah (248), Dammam (104), Hofuf (72), Qunfidhah (52), Hadda (40), Jubail (30), Taif (28), Baish (20), Qatif (16), Yanbu (14), Al-Majma'ah (13), Sabya (9), Dhahran (8), Tabuk (8), Mahayel Asir (7), Diriyah (7), Al-Khobar (6), Al-Qurrayat (5), Abha (4), Buraidah (4), Al-Fara Valley (4), Hail (4), Al-Kharj (4), Al-Majardah (3), Rafha (3), Hottat bni Tamim (3), Al-Delm (3), Khamis Mushait (2), Al-Baha (2), Hafr Al-Batin (2), Al-Quwaiiyah (2), and one case in each of Al-Quraie, Qarah, Baljurashi, Khulais, Al-Muzaylif, Najran, Tubarjal, Jadeedah Arar, Dhurma and Layla.
He pointed out that the total cases tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kingdom reached 39048 cases, of which 27345 cases are active cases receiving medical care, and their health condition is mostly stable; with the exception of 143 critical cases.
He also pointed out that the cases confirmed today represent 65% for non-Saudis and 35% for Saudi nationals.
The number of the new recoveries is 1313, bringing the total number of recoverees to 11457, Dr. Al-Abdulaali said, adding that the number of the new deaths is 7, bringing the total death toll to 246.
He called on whoever has symptoms or would like to check-up, to use the self-assessment service in MAWID application, and inquire or consult the Health Center (937) around the clock.
