The Arab Republic of Egypt has stressed the importance of adhering to the Riyadh Agreement on the settlement in Yemen and eliminating any step that contradicts it. It welcomed the statement issued today by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, being led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, citing the assurance of the importance of adhering to Riyadh Agreement and working to accelerate the implementation of its provisions, and the necessity of returning the situation to its previous state, with the aim of giving priority to the interests of the Yemeni people, restoring their state and confronting terrorist organizations. In a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry today, Egypt renewed its support for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the forces of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen to bring about peace, security and stability in Yemen, in a manner that guarantees its unity and territorial integrity and alleviates the suffering of the Yemeni people, and aims to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis according to relevant references, in particular the initiative of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its implementation mechanisms, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution 2216.
