U.S. stocks rose Wednesday, with the Standard & Poor's 500 and the Nasdaq indexes hitting record highs.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 161.41, or 0.6 percent, to 28,745.09.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 15.87, or 0.5 percent, to 3,253.05.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 60.66, or 0.7 percent, to 9,129.24.
