Council of Senior Scholars: Kingdom is continuing to achieve justice in case of citizen Jamal Khashoggi, and judiciary is independent authority, and criminal punishment is not imposed until after conviction has been proven

The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars has clarified that the preliminary rulings issued against eleven people in the case of late citizen Jamal Khashoggi confirm that the judiciary in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is pursuing justice and holding accountable anyone involved in this crime.
Secretary-General of the Senior Scholars Authority and member of the Supreme Judicial Council Sheikh Dr. Fahd bin Saad Al-Majed said, "The judiciary in the Kingdom is an independent authority and there is no authority over the judges in their rulings other than the authority of Islamic law, noting in this regard the measures that have been taken to seek truth and justice, and that no criminal punishment be imposed on any person except after proving his conviction for the crime attributed to him after a trial that is conducted according to the legal requirement."
