Al-Diriyah Makes History with the First International Tennis Stroke in Saudi Arabia
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 12 - 12 - 2019

Today, a new chapter in the Kingdom's sports history was written, where the first international tennis match took place within Al-Diriyah Cup Tennis Championship provided by Saudi Aramco, where eight of the best tennis stars in the world competed at Al-Diriyah Court for First International Tennis Championship to be held in the Kingdom and listed within the activities of Al-Diriyah Season.
The best tennis players participating in the three-day tournament are from Italy, USA, Switzerland, France; Russia; Germany; Belgium.
It is noteworthy that this event makes history because it is the first time that Hawk-Eye Live technology was used outside the NextGen ATP Finals, using this technology that replaces direct referees and provides more accuracy.
This innovative technology, which is currently used in football tournaments to judge the entry of the ball into the goal, sends visual and visual signals to the referee and the big screens in the tennis court within ten seconds of touching the ball to the line, in order to avoid mistakes without relying on the naked eye.
