GCC Ministerial Council Holds 145th Preparatory Session, for the 14th Gulf summit

Foreign Ministers of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf held here today, meetings of the 145th session of the Ministerial Council for "Preparatory" 14th session of the Supreme Council.
The meetings were headed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, with the participation of the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.
At the beginning of the meeting, the ministers held their joint periodic meeting with a chairman and members of the advisory body of the Supreme Council, headed by the president its current session Sheikh Ahmed bin Youssef Al-Harthi.
Al-Harthi reviewed the report of the body on the work of its twenty-third session, and its visions towards the studies mandated by the distinguished Supreme Council.
Then the Council started its 145th preparatory meeting for the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council summit, with a speech delivered by Dr. Gargash, in which he expressed sincere thanks to the Kingdom for hosting the preparatory ministerial council meetings for the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council, on its 14th session, expressing sincere thanks to the GCC Secretary-General and workers, at the General Secretariat, for their distinguished performance and their tireless efforts to develop work in the General Secretariat, in accordance with the highest standards of quality and excellence.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council also delivered a speech in which he welcomed the ministers of the GCC countries, congratulating the United Arab Emirates for assuming the presidency of the 14th session of the Cooperation Council, and thanked the Sultanate of Oman for its generous and sincere efforts during its presidency of the 39th session, expressing thanks to the chairman and members of the Drafting Committee for their efforts, in preparing and laying ground for the ministerial council meeting.
Then the ministers discussed the topics on the agenda of the preparatory session, including the report of the General Secretariat on what has been implemented regarding the decisions of the Supreme Council and the ministerial council, and what has been accomplished in the framework of achieving integration and cooperation, in the course of joint Gulf action, in addition to the reports and recommendations submitted by the competent councils, ministerial committees and the General Secretariat, in preparation for submitting them to the 14th session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council, for guidance on them.
