Published in Saudi Press Agency on 27 - 11 - 2019

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is continuing its practical and calculated steps within the program of developing and improving airports and increasing the number of domestic and international destinations.
GACA is launching a package of development programs and initiatives in various regions of the Kingdom to raise the level of competitiveness and to strike a balance between supply and demand in the air transport market to serve travelers and enhance the civil aviation industry.
During the past few days, GACA started an initiative at Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Al-Qassim, Prince Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Yanbu and Hail International Airport.
On the 10th of November, GACA continued to implement its development program at Taif International Airport. Six roundtrip flights were added from Taif International Airport to Cairo International Airport, three days a week, via Air Arabia.
This comes as part of GACA's programs to drive up the growth of flights at high-growth airports, in return for the development of treatments for low-traffic airports to find the needed solutions to raise the rate of growth in air and passenger traffic and then to open the way for more international flights.
It is worth mentioning, that GACA is working to develop a network of international and domestic airports, to accommodate the ever-growing demand and increase in the number of passengers at various airports around the Kingdom. Furthermore, GACA is looking to build a modern airport system that provides advanced modern services, which enhances the services being provided to passengers with high quality, and provide comfort and luxury at airports, with increasing demand for air traffic, in addition to the development of the work methodology for customers' protection according to the latest international standards.
