Jeddah International Book Fair management has revealed the start of the arrival of shipments of books from within the Kingdom and various countries of the world with continuous efforts of relevant authorities amid the competition of 400 local, Arab and international publishing houses to participate in this global cultural event from 40 countries around the world. The Book Fair will be launched under the patronage of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, during the period from 11-21 December 2019. The Fair, which occupies a total area of 30,000 square meters, is considered one of the largest specialized exhibitions in the Arab world. The Fair also aims at spreading awareness and knowledge and educating society, which enhances the Kingdom's position to embrace major events and present culture in its most beautiful forms, according to Jeddah's cultural inventory and heritage, and promote the cultural environment in the Kingdom. This comes within the directives of the leadership and its interest in the culture industry, developing the spirit of belonging to books and caring for the movement of publishing and writing in general.
