The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) organized an introductory exhibition recently at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, open to all parties interested in the entertainment sector. During the exhibition, GEA announced the launch of a new package of licenses which facilitate the process of obtaining official permissions for those wishing to launch projects by adopting the best technical practices. With this step, GEA seeks to develop an effective legislative system that will boost the economic activity of the Kingdom's entertainment sector and contribute towards attracting local and foreign investments. In this regard, GEA's CEO, Mr. Amr Banaja stated that GEA has developed legislations aimed at regulating and growing the Kingdom's entertainment sector through a set of easy and clear procedures, in order to position the Kingdom among the world's top entertainment destinations and achieve the targets outlined in the Saudi Vision 2030. On his end, GEA's Chief Operations Officer, Sultan AlFakeer stressed that the new package of licenses aims to encourage investment in entertainment and promote the sector as a vital and promising one, and allows investors to obtain licenses by applying via a dedicated online services platform with clear and easy procedures. The event was attended by hundreds of potential investors, stakeholders, and parties interested in the entertainment sector from both government and private entities, where they were briefed on illustrative models of the licensing mechanism.
