U.S. stocks rose Wednesday—with the Standard & Poor's 500 briefly topping 3,000 for the first time and the Dow industrials and Nasdaq also reaching record highs. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 76.71, or 0.3 percent, to 26,860.20. The broader S&P 500 rose 13.44, or 0.45 percent, to 2,993.07. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 60.80, or 0.75 percent, to 8,202.53.
