Under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Greece, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, and in the presence of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH), Ahmad bin Aqeel AlKhatib, the Greek Minister of Culture, Myrsini Zorba has inaugurated "Roads of Arabia Expo", being organized by SCTH at the Benaki Museum in Athens, Greece. In his speech during the ceremony, AlKhatib affirmed that the Greek civilization contributed to building the Western civilization since ancient times, at the same time, a great civilization emerged from the land of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic civilization, and both civilizations contributed to changing our present and past. He added that the relationship between Greece and the Arabian Peninsula extends to 3,000 years, and is highlighted in a number of monuments in the Kingdom that show the historical and cultural ties between the Arabian peninsula and Greek and Byzantine cultures. After the speech ceremony, the Greek Minister of Culture and the President of SCTH toured the exhibition, which includes more than 466 rare archaeological pieces that cover eras extending between the Paleolithic era (around one million year B.C.) to pre-Islamic old ages, followed by the early, medium and late Arab kingdoms civilizations, and then the Islamic and medium Islamic eras, until the establishment of the Saudi state with its three development phases until reaching the reign of late King Abdulaziz Al Saud.
