The United States has accused Iran of defying a UN Security Council resolution by launching a ballistic missile and two industrial satellites since last December, urging the UN Security Council to re-impose tougher international restrictions on Tehran. "Iran tested a medium-range ballistic missile on December 1, 2018 and tried to put two satellites into orbit, one on January 15 and the other on February 5," Acting US Ambassador to the United Nations Jonathan Cohen said in a letter to the UN Security Council. In his letter, Cohen called on the Security Council to join his country in imposing real restrictions on Iran for its blatant defiance of the demands of the Security Council.
