Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Sheikh launched today in a press conference the new strategy of the General Entertainment Authority and the Kingdom's trend to be among the top four entertainment destinations in Asia and among the world's top ten. The announcement included the unveiling of the new identity of the Authority and the launching of the festivities' platform "Live It", which includes all entertainment, cultural and sports activities, as it will have a smart application with the same name, in addition to a number of agreements and partnerships with local and international bodies in the entertainment sector. The press conference was attended by a number of princes, excellences, and editors of a number of Saudi newspapers, international news agencies, journalists from different media outlets. At the beginning of the ceremony, the royal anthem was performed by singer Abadi Al-Jawhar, musician Amir Abdulmajeed and artist Mohammed Sorour, followed by a visual presentation of the new identity of the Authority. Then, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Sheikh delivered a speech where he said that the entertainment sector is an important sector, where the Kingdom's leadership takes every interest in achieving its objectives to improve the standard of living in the Kingdom, as well as its active contribution to supporting the economy and creating jobs. After that, he reviewed a number of upcoming events, including religious events to be held during Ramadan, including the best recitation of the Holy Quran, which is an open competition for all nationalities, where the winner will receive a prize of 5 million Saudi riyals; the performing of "Adhan" competition; the Hijra journey competition, and others. In a gesture to honor the Saudi art, Al Al-Sheikh announced the establishment of an initiative to hold a poetry evening for Prince Badr bin Abdulmohsen. He also announced the honoring of late artists Abu Bakr Salem and Talal Madah, in addition to honoring the artist Mohammed Abdo through the production of 100 songs using hologram, in addition of launching "King of Oud Competition" with Abadi Al-Jawhar. He addressed the televised competition programs, announcing the Kingdom's hosting of "Takeshi's Castle", which is the most popular show in entertainment competitions, as well as working on the production of the Saudi version of "The Voice", the biggest version of "Balot" competition in 13 regions of the Kingdom, professional bull riding, and entering the negotiations to attract one of the NBA games, and others. Al-Sheikh stressed that the absolute priority is to provide job opportunities for Saudis in all areas provided by the entertainment sector, stressing the support of Saudi talents. The ceremony included the signing of memorandums of understanding with a number of government and private entities, where the Chairman signed four memorandums of understanding with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, and Silah Company to attract international events. A number of agreements were signed with a number of local and international companies that will organize the Authority's events, including Italian company Balich, Japanese AVEX, Broadway Entertainment, and 1001 Inventions.
