Kuwait urged all Libyan parties to engage in transparent, inclusive and peaceful elections to build a united and stable Libya. This came during the speech of Kuwait, delivered by its Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi at a Security Council session on Libya on yesterday, during which he confirmed that 80% of the Libyan people want to hold elections. Al-Otaibi reiterated his support for the efforts of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya Ghassan Salameh to facilitate a comprehensive Libyan political process in accordance with the UN plan and his efforts to open a mission office in the city of Benghazi in the coming period.
