Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states decided at its 45th session held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to appoint Yousif Mohammed Al-Dhubaeyi, a senior employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Ambassador Samir Bakr Diab, a State of Palestine official, as Assistant Secretary General for Palestine and Al-Quds Affairs as well as appointing Ambassador Tariq Bakheet, Ambassador Askar Mussinov, Ambassador Ahmad Ssengendo and Ambassador Musa Kulaklikaya as Assistant Secretaries General in various positions. The first day of the meeting witnessed elections where Ambassador Tariq Bakheet of the Republic of Sudan won the position of Assistant Secretary General for Cultural, Family and Humanitarian Affairs within the Arab Group. Ambassador Askar Mussinov of the Republic of Kazakhstan was appointed as Assistant Secretary General for Science and Technology Affairs within the Asian Group, Ambassador Ahmad Ssengendo of the Republic of Uganda, as Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs and Ambassador Musa Kulaklikaya of the Republic of Turkey as OIC Assistant Secretary General for Financial and Administrative Affairs.
