The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Tuesday afternoon. At the outset of the session, the King briefed the Cabinet on telephone calls between him and President Michel Temer of Republic of Brazil, President Mauricio Macri of the Republic of Argentina, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, and Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg, and his meetings with Chairman of NATO Partnerships Sub-committee Mateen Lutfi, and President of Pontifical Council for Interfaith Dialogue in the Vatican State Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran. The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet was briefed on a number of reports on latest developments at Arab, regional and international arenas, stressing the Kingdom's firm positions towards them. The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's strong condemnation of the suicide attack in west of the Afghan capital Kabul, offering its condolences to the families of the victims and the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded, renewing the Kingdom's solidarity and stand with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan against terrorism and extremism. On local affairs, the Cabinet confirmed that the King's inauguration on Saturday of Al-Qiddiya Project, the new entertainment, sports and cultural destination in the Kingdom to be built in west of the capital Riyadh embodies the Kingdom's aspirations and ongoing efforts to develop gigantic projects in line with the Kingdom's vision 2030, which will contribute to achieving further economic returns for the Kingdom, and advancing the sustainable development for the interest of the homeland and its citizens. --More 15:40 LOCAL TIME 12:40 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1755912
