Published in Saudi Press Agency on 12 - 04 - 2018

Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir chaired today the Arab League Council's Arab Foreign Ministers Preparatory Meeting ahead of the 29th Arab Summit.
In a speech during the meeting, Al-Jubeir welcomed the ministers participating in the meeting and thanked Jordan for its sincere efforts in leading the Arab joint action during its presidency of the 28th Arab Summit.
Al-Jubeir expressed condolences to Algeria on the victims of the military plane crash. He also stressed that the Palestinian cause will top the Summit's agenda. Al-Jubeir also said that "We express our condemnation of the US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and we commend the international consensus to reject this recognition."
Al-Jubeir stressed that extremism and terrorism are a threat to our countries and peoples and must be dealt with firmly, pointing out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not accept nor tolerate terrorism and Iranian interference in our region, stressing that there is no peace and stability in the region as long as Iran interferes in the internal affairs of the Arab countries.
Al-Jubeir said that Iran is supplying the Houthi militia in Yemen with Iranian-made ballistic missiles where 117 of which were launched by Houthi militia on Saudi cities, stressing that this act reflects Iran's adoption of all terrorism acts that destabilize security and stability in Yemen. He also said that we support the efforts exerted in this regard by the United Nations in implementation of Security Council Resolution No. 2216 in accordance with the GCC Initiative and the outcomes of the Yemeni national dialogue.
Al-Jubeir pointed out that Houthi terrorist militia is fully responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, adding that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has supported the humanitarian, development, government programs as well as the Central Bank in Yemen with more than $10 billion during the last three years. He also said that the projects implemented by King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid in Yemen reached 217 at a cost of $925 million.
